On April 27, national touring hip-hop musician and inspirational speaker, ‘brotha James’ (aka, Jeremy Reisig) lead an interactive concert/workshop using music and audience participation to discuss making positive life choices and building relationships with purpose.
Several IJLF board members joined him as he traveled to Benzie Central High School, Frankfort-Elberta Junior High, Platte River Elementary 6th grade & then an evening performance at Grow Benzie for parents & kids. Admission was free and was underwritten by the Isaac Julian Legacy Foundation, Frankfort Congregational Church, and Benzie County Cares for Kids.
The enthusiasm he shared for living life on fire–a life of passion, power and purpose, was contagious. We witnessed tears, smiles, forgiveness, hope, and motivation transform the audience throughout the day. We were proud to partner with FCC & BCCK to bring a potent and relevant message to our area youth and to our community.
Though this was our first sponsored event, it is surely not our last! Our board continues to seek out opportunities for the message of self love, healing, and empowerment to enrich & inspire. Look for us to continue to use our generous community supported funds to bring more people like brotha James to our area!
